History
In the beginning, Govt. industrial Training Institute, Nadaun (at Rail) was established as rural Industrial Training Institute under department of Industries, Govt. of Himachal Pradesh during the year, 1964 at Hamirpur and thereafter shifted to Nadaun in the Year 1978. The institute was converted to Industrial Training Institute in the year July ,1983 with trades mainly D/Man © Carpenter, Fitter run under the aegis of newly established “Technical Education Department “ in H.P. The Institute run in a private rented
Building up to 24 Nov., 2002 and after this it is shifted to own campus/ building at Rail (KandrolaPanchyat). The campus area is 55 kanal and 15 Merla .
The Institute has the following infrastructural facilities:-
1. Main administrative/Institute building.
2. Centre of excellence building.
3. Boy’s hostel having capacity of 60 beds.
4. Girl’s hostel having capacity of 30 beds.
5. Type-IV quarters for principal
6. Type-III quarters (5 nos.)
7. Type-II quarters (6 nos.)
8 Type-I quarters building proposed for construction.
9. A big playground
10. Multipurpose hall & library
Presently , Institute has 14 Trades with 23 shifts having intake capacity of 529 trainees. At present 424 trainees (364 boys and 60 girls ) are undergoing technical training during this academic session. In last academic session 229 no trainees appeared in the final trade test in which appeared 281 & passed out 276 . The pass percentage is 98%.
The state of art ITI Nadaun is also running in the campus of this institute. Fitter trade under SCVT is started from this session having 21 no of trainees. The land for this institute has been proposed at Kitpal near Nadaun .
In district Hamirpur , there are 7 nos. Govt. ITI’s and about 17 nos.pvt. ITI’s are imparting the technical education to candidate to fulfill the trained manpower of Industries. The

Training and placement cell:-
T&P cell has been established in each ITI’s for the job placement of pass out trainees. Cell arrange the campus interviews by calling the National and Multi-national companies like Nestle, proctor & Gamble, Blue Star, Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors India Ltd. Mahindra, Inox wind, Havells India Ltd. Tigaksha Metallics India Ltd. Himachal Energy pvt.Ltd. etc. For the last academic Year out of 229 trainees 141 no got placed in the various companies. The placement percentage for the last academic year is 62%
Apprenticeship Training :-
After passing ITI training, trainees can increase their technical skill through this training as per App. Act,1961. This Institute is assisting the passed trainees to enter in the apprenticeship training through on line MIS NCVT portal. Institute also acts as an Assistant Apprenticeship Advisor.
Institute Management Committee :-
IMC has been framed by this Institute w.e.f. 2 September, 2003. The industry partner provides the better employment opportunity to the trainees and also help in the improvement of infrastructure. Now, the Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. Opted this institute as industry partner of IMC.IMC provide free training to the faculty & Interview skill session also organized to the trainees. Free skills. Practical & Interview skill session also organized to the trainees. Free machinery , equipments and wall charts are also provide to the Institute.
In Plant Training
The trainees who are undergoing training are sent to various industries for one month/two month In-plant Training as per their training period. The in-plant Training familiarizes the trainees with the industry culture.
Sports activates:-
As per the directions of Director, technical Education, vocational & Industrial training Cum president of state ITI’s sport Council,H.P the 10th district level sports Meet of women and 11th district level sports Meet of men of District Hamirpur(h.p) was organized in the month of Nov. & December of 2016 (w.e.f 27-11-2016 to 03-12-2016) to make participation in the state level sports Meet. Now, 28th HP state ITI’s sport meet (men),2017 is scheduled to organize in this institute from 11-05-2017 to 15-05-2017 Following event are include in this sport Meet:-
